What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is “constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity”. It is a strength and conditioning program that is designed for fitness that is inclusive, broad and general. Our specialty is not specializing.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals as well as elite competitive athletes training for the Games. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen. (Courtesy of CrossFit Inc.)

What is Fitness?
Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.
Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.
Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense.
Regularly learn and play new sports. (Courtesy of CrossFit Inc.)
I’ve never done anything like this before. Can I do it?
Yes! Our programs are scalable on every level. We have athletes in our classes that have never heard of olympic lifts prior to coming into Calibrated CrossFit, those who have never participated in a sport, and those who have not worked out in years. As long as you are willing to work hard and commit to our program and to your fitness, CrossFit can be for you!
What if I don’t want to be an athlete? I just want to improve my fitness and be healthy.
Then come on in! We believe that fitness, wellness and strength are all part of good health and we will help you reach your goals. The only person you have to worry about competing in the gym with is yourself. You will be pushing yourself to your limits. Although, down the road, you may have that urge to go a little faster than your partner to get just one more box jump than him/her. Just wait. It tends to happen.
Okay, I’m ready to check out Calibrated CrossFit. What do I do first?
First, congratulate yourself on such a wonderful decision. Then, contact us by phone or email and we can get you started with our On Ramp course. This course will go over the fundamental movements that we will use in our programs in a safe and effective manner. Also, we will be able to get to know you and assess your goals. We can’t wait to meet you and get started! Fitness will never be the same.
I have more questions but can’t think of them right now.
Not a problem. Please give us a call, drop us an email, or even drop by the gym and we would be more than happy to answer any or all of your questions.
