As a wife and mom, consistent exercise and a healthy lifestyle are a must. After having my daughter in 2011, I found group fitness at an all-women’s studio. Soon after, I began leading Les Mills GRIT classes, a 30-minute HIIT workout, and worked as an ACE Group Fitness Instructor for combinations of Pilates and cardio. I finally followed my husband into a CrossFit gym in 2014. When I started, I couldn’t do a pull-up! I learned so much in the first few months – about my abilities, my limits, how to listen to my body, when to push, and how to break down exercises to be safe and efficient.
Most mornings, I’m at Calibrated with the other 5:30am early birds, and that one hour class delivers on several aspects: functional movements, strength, cardio, new challenges, and community. From carrying groceries to wrangling a toddler (or both), I know I can physically handle whatever comes my way. I love teaching others and watching them execute it on their own to get better each week. Outside of the gym, you can find me drinking coffee, managing our rental properties, signing up for random races, or rescuing animals.
